As you may or may not know, Furia are on a hiatus. I don’t know much about that, but the fact is that both Solvor and Stine has gotten married and have given birth to a baby each.
I don’t know what will happen with the band, but FanFuria.com will keep the flame alive and today I’m upgrading it to a site that is easier to use and maintain.
I have finally got my hands on the album and it sounds amazing. This time around, the band have gone back to their roots as a melancholic rockband and they really get to show that they´re really a rockband, not a popband. Sure, the songs are catchy, as you would expect, but not catchy in the same way “…And Then We Married the World” was. They´re working on you at a much slower pace and it sounds darker, more intense and personal. The personality of the band is much more visible in the soundscape and in the music, and I´m sure producer Sylvia Massy Shivy has played a really big part of that. It´s the album we hoped Furia would release as a debut, not disrespecting “…And Then..”, and now we´ve got it. Congrats, girls! Oh, and check out www.myspace.com/furianorway
Yes, yes! The coming album “Piece of Paradise” will be coming out in Norway on the 20th of November. You can buy the wonderful single “Piece of Paradise” on iTunes.
As there is little to report from the Furia-camp, take a listen to my band Rebolts new EP, “Made in Spite”. Download and listen to at www.myspace.com/reboltrock
You probably already know, but the girls are over in Weed, California, with producer Sylvia Massy Shivy (Prince, Tool, System of a down, Johnny Cash, Seigmen) recording their second album. In a mail, Solvor confirms to me that it sounds great already! See the diary over at Furia.no where you can read all about the recording. The album is due out in August. ![]()
You may have read it already, but Furia has signed a deal with EMI Germany and will be releasing “…And Then We Married the World” in August in all of Europe. Their next album will be out sometime in the first half of 2006. EMI has commited itself yo make Furia a household name in Europe within two years! And now we can’t wait for the rest of the story! Congrats to the girls for being patient and working so hard!
Yes, I am one lucky bastard. Before the weekend, I got to listen to a completely new song called “Maybe” and it sounded amazing! It was a lot more like the “old” Furia; darker and more melancholic. It starts out like a ballad, and ends in loudness. Rumours also say that there is lot going on towards the german marked - so friends of Furia in Germany: Keep your fingers crossed!
On the 25th of November, Furia will play the club “Blå” in Oslo for a small crowd. Only 250 tickets for sale (www.billettservice.no / NOK 70), but also some invited people. This will be the last gig the band do in Norway before christmas.
From today a new forum/board can be found on the bands official site, Furia.no. It also has a english language section. Here’s a direct link to the forum!
A new (wow!!!?) review in the press-section
